Kauri Cliffs Golf Resort
Kauri Cliffs is situated in the Bay Of Islands in the Northern half of New Zealand above the beautiful beaches of Waiaua Bay and Takou Bay on a 5000 acre old sheep station owned by hedge fund manager Julian Robertson. I was employed to design a master landscape plan and to implement all aspects of the hard and soft landscaping which took around a year to complete. Relais & Chateaux rated it as the one of the best golf course resorts in the world which makes me feel very proud to have been involved in a project of this stature. The Matakauri Boutique Hotel
Matakauri Lodge is the sister property to Kauri Cliffs and is situated above the crystal clear waters of Lake Whakatipu with breath taking views to the Remarkables situated just a few miles out of Queenstown. I was commissioned to design a master landscape plan and to implement the hard and soft landscaping around the lodge and the accommodation chalets. The landscaping was a lot more challenging with alpine conditions and freezing through part of the project. The landscaping has been achieved to enhance but not compete with the stunning natural surroundings. The lodge is consistently rated as the top destination down under.
